Summary: The Gas Index is a free, real-time consumer price index for regular unleaded gasoline across the United States. It combines EIA survey data, Google Places API station-level prices, AI voice agents that call gas stations, and crowdsourced photo submissions. It is operated by Prime Directive AI Ltd and built by Matt Cortland and John Fleming.
